They are quiet expensive too. They are sold here for around 4 - 500$.

I stopped by at apple store, they don't have either 440 or 840 on the shelves. They have bose tho. But I'm decided that I'm not going for bose (I know my friend's into bose - I'll explain to him after). I still have 2 days to shop.

Did the chinese come out with bootlegs bose on ear? I'm so afraid of buying anything on craigslist for headphones. Even dr dres are fake now.

What did you end up getting him?

I got him Shure 440 plus I throw him another $150 gift cards from Future Shop. He doesn't like it, he could always use the gift card + 440 to upgrade for 840. But he did say 840 is too big. Anyway, he's going to call me either tonight or tomorrow for feedback. I'm going to try his 440 next week. I might be getting one for myself too (440). I listen to house and pops.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'm getting one for myself too... but have to wait for next month. Hahaha...

if he's using an amp, Ety4s; if not, then Ety4p.  I've listened to opera and classical for years thru my Etys and love their crystalline presence, and now they're available for under 150 I believe.  Would also recommend the UM3X but that's out of the price range you suggest.

I don't think we have Etys here. I've checked a few stores. Anyway, I know he hates IE headphones. That's why I was looking for OE hp.

Feedback from my friend : He really likes the 440. I'm gonna try it this weekend with my ipod (and my musics).

Glad to see he likes them; they're really good headphones for the price.
