Will this sound card work as a DAC and will it connect to my uDac so I can use that as an amp? If so is this a good pairing? Do you guys have better suggestions from the X-FI line of cards? Plus can someone give me a walk through on how to connect the card to the uDac. Thanks

Is this because you want to use the card for gaming?

The uDAC's only input is USB, so you'll have to plug your headphones directly into the card to get any use out of it. The A700 doesn't need an amp anyway.

I just thought it would sound better with those 2 other inputs on the uDAC to a sound card. Sorry Im new to these things.

You can use a soundcard to drive an external DAC.  There are many aorund here that use such systems.

You will get all the features and effect of the card but the output quality ..etc from the DAC.  You just use S/Pdif, either Coax or optical depending on the card.

Hope that helps.

The uDAC only has a USB input, the other sockets are outputs.  One digital output, and one set for analog output.

That was aready mentioned.

That is why I mentioned S/Pdif to a DAC...
