Guide on replacing volume pot in ZERO Dac/Headphone Amp?

Does anyone know of a guide on how to replace the volume pot in the ZERO Headphone Amp? It is really annoying having unbalanced audio because of the shoddy Song volume pot, and I would like to replace it. I know there is soldering involved, but I am not willing to try this without a guide as I am not an expert at it. Thanks in advance for the help!

Also, does anyone know which is the correct ALPS volume pot model that is compatible with the Zero? Thanks!

Sorry, Mods. I didn't mean to double post this. Please delete my other thread if there are any problems, thanks!

Ok, I found a guide, but what is the correct Alps volume pot model? Lawrence isn't selling any at the moment, and I do not want to purchase the wrong one.

I hate to resurrect old threads, but where exactly did you find your guide? When i'm using low-impedance headphones, the volume control has to be really low and its slightly unbalanced at those ranges.

EDIT: nvm, if all goes well, I'll be doing the Franken Zero Mod sometime soon biggrin.gif

I modded, but the thing still didn't work. It was so bad, that I couldn't use it even with a replacement volume pot. It is currently sitting in a closet and I am ampless at the moment :(

Good luck and I hope you have better success than I did. :)
