Any difference between low-cost iPod LODs?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has noticed any significant differences between some of the low-cost iPod LODs such as the NuForce or SendStation?  I know that you can get better sounding LODs, but I'm not looking to break the bank on this.

I'm using a 5th Gen iPod and a HeadRoom Total BitHead with Etymotic 6i earphones.  Of course I can use the TBH with the headphone jack on the iPod, but who really wants to do that?  Still, I'm feeling a tad light in the pocket at the moment, so don't want to go all-out on an LOD.

I've been looking at the NuForce and the SendStation, and my guess is that they're pretty sonically equivalent (and the NuForce is $10 cheaper).  Are there any other brands I should look into?

I've heard that a Head-Fier named Turbo also makes highly-regarded LODs, but I don't know what he charges (or if he still does make them).  I plan to PM him, but in the meantime, I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed any differences between these products or if they're all about the same and I should just go for the best price.

Thanks!

Personally I would ask around here and see if you can get someone to make one for you depending on how much you want to spend on the cable all together.

To answer your question, IMO all lower end LoDs sound about the same but it ultimately depends on how revealing your headphones are if you are going to hear the changes or not. Some people believe they are worth it and others don't.
