FS: Stax SRM-717

This amp is silver and has the voltage converter block on the back which is considered more rare.

I bought this unit from another head-fi'er with only 100 hours on it, and have put 800 more hours on it, so it is still a relatively young amp.

I'll give it a 9/10 for cosmetic condition just to be on the conservative side, but it looks like new to me.

Price - $975 + shipping & PayPal.

Thanks!

What's about the channel imbalance you have talked in other thread when the amp is not warm-up ?

Great question.

For the first 10-20 minutes I use the L/R balance control with a slight increase on the right side, and after 10-20 minutes of warm-up I can adjust the L/R balance so that they are equal.

This could either be equipment burn-in/warm-up, or perhaps my ears adjusting to the sound.

I haven't actually listened to the amp in the last 2 weeks since moving houses.

I'm glad that you brought it up because I had actually forgotten about it, as when I owned the amp I decided that it was just warm-up and considered it a non-issue.

However, I think I'd like to withdraw the amp for sale right now until I can re-evaluate the balance on the amp and answer more definitively.
