Im from Bacolod. I saw a head-fi link at headroom's site. How about you?

Some head-fiers have pm'ed me about having been to the Philippines, while others have relatives here. I doubt if there are more than 5 of us from the Philippines here

My asawa is from Camiling, and we've got a house there. Oh and welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about the wallet.

I was telling Tortie, we've got to set up a meet when the planets line up. Was there in June this year too. He's south, we're up north, we could meet in Batangas or something.

That would be a great idea but think that it would't be worth it considering we are so few. Maybe when someone holds an asian meet or an international meet or something, and besides im still new to head-fi and i still need to build myself a worthy rig

cheers,

I usually play PC games late at night and I was looking for headphones so that I wont wake up other people up. Headphones also gave me better 3D positional sound than my speakers so instead of buying an expensive speaker setup, I decided to get a good pair of headphones and an amp instead. Then one thing lead to another, and before I knew it, my wallet has taken a beating!

Mail

Hey do you guys have any problems with mail delivery? Do you use the local post office? I'm wondering how it works there. My wife will absolutely not send anything as she says it will be stolen, lost, not make it so we never send anything of real value, except by balikbayan box.

Post Office

Yes that is correct. Things of value, especially envelopes from abroad that looks like it contains cash will be opened & its contents stolen 90% of the time I usually ship my headphone stuff to my sister's house in NJ and she sends it here via Johhny Air (1 week) or thru Balikbayan Box (4 to 8 weeks). This way, with the grace of God, I got all of my packages.

But small stuff like books, cds, cables, pads & overclocking thingies arrive here safely thru our Postal.

Things in general are safe, just dont send cash & jewelries.

Thanks for the info Tortie. One of my options is retiring in the RP. What is Johnny Air btw? Did you ever get that RA-1 for your RS-1? I bought amadeus-mozart's.

You guys have any problems with FedEx?
Fractus,

Johhny Air is a small carrier that we use to ship packages from the US to the Phils. But they charge by weight, so its a little bit expensive if you ship big stuff, but their delivery time is great.

Yep, I finally got that RA1. I bought it from JAG here. Looks like we have the same current RS1/Meta42 setup now & we will have that same RS1/RA1 setup in the future Its on the way now to my sister's house. My 963SA is already there, she's just waiting for the amp and some cables I had sent to her so that she can ship my stuff together thru a balikbayan box. I might not get it till late December at the latest

Phantasma,

FedEx, for me is the best in shipping time, but it is also one of the most expensive and they are up front with the customs charges, so it gets even more expensive. I paid about $80 on customs alone for my RS1 plus $30 for the shipment.
