Maybe you knew it already lol: Monster Cable vs Coat Hanger ;) - Page 2

A functioning speaker wire is not hard to make. They could've done Monster Cable vs. CAT-5 network cable, and gotten similar results. Usually as far as these tests are concerned, if sound comes out of the speakers, that means there is no difference between what's being tested. Not that I'm defending Monster in any way. Monster Cable is no different than bulk wire from the hardware store.

That's not the point. If you take a bunch of people who have zero experience in critical listening, play some unfamiliar music in an unfamiliar system/setting, this is what will happen. YAWN.

I took care of the whole speaker cable problem...I ordered my entire 7.1 system fully active bi and tri-amped. Saved  a TON of money on expensive speaker cables (the speakers were $34,000 but DARN IT, I saved a lot of money on speaker cables). All I run is XLR interconnects. I tried a coat hanger but no sound came out so I can definitely say my XLR interconnects sound better than a coat hanger.
