Did any true hoops or Boston fan believe in anything better than a split coming Back from L.A. ; Because that is all the more possible now after the Celtics have takin a good wake-up shot to their pride ;)

This is going to be a long drawn out series, unless they split out in L.A. !

Actually the Lakers have yet only done the expected and what they needed, whereas losing game one on their homecourt would have been the unexpected , to this hoops fan .

Is it true that the Lakers are unstoppable ? For one game we now know that seems to be the case. Does this mean the Lakers and Kobe will be unstoppable in this series ? The jury is still out, but if I were a betting man, my money would be on Boston doing just that , unexpectedly in game 2 , but certainly at home in game 3 !

Going to be a great series ~

Have fun !

I don't know if it is going to be a great series. If so, the Celtics better play a heck of a lot better than last night. They all appeared jet lagged. KG worst of all. He looked 90 years old out there. Sixteen points is just fine but four boards ain't goin' to cut it.

My X factor Gasol: 23/14. Bet the C's rest up and are fired up for Sunday. They don't want to go back 0-2.

It just crossed my mind what type of write-ups and aftermath there would be if the lakers win the championship, but Kobe doesn't win finals mvp... =p

Yea KG has to go up against Bynum/Gasol for rebounds, good luck with that. And if Gasol can continue to guard him without help, it may be a short series unless the refs step in to help extend it. I agree that he just looked old, but jet lag wasn't an issue; they have been in LA since Monday.

So who are we suggesting would win the mvp then? Gasol? That's not that bad.

How many actual LAers/Bostonians here?

Heh, what would be the chance of that? I'd say about 0.0005% I know the wifey would be upset, since some of her post game celebration camera time would be cut. :D

BTW, the best part of that game, the cold shoulder 24 gave Chris Rock, in addition to Phil's scolding. I don't know if non-U.S. viewers saw that, but a search for Christ Rock and Lakers will pop up some vids on YouTube.

I thought the best part of the game was the cold elbows that Gasol gave to Garnett.

And Kobe said yesterday that he had no idea Rock was even doing it!

It appears the old guys got over their trip and decided to play ball. That's the Celtics I picked to win the series, or more like  the Lakers I picked to lose. Where I'm concerned, the Lakers should win every game when Bynum and Gasol finish with  around 40 minutes. That size mismatch is so lopsided,  even with a big first half from Allen. It made for an Interesting stat line. The two almost blocked more than they rebounded - 13 swats to 14 boards. I don't know whether that's good or bad. The smaller C's out snatched L.A. 44 - 39. That's a heart stat. Game 1 was 42 - 31 the other way.

Impressive win for the Celtics.

+1 LAer

LA vs Boston again... feels bored. I was hoping for Suns vs Boston. Anyway I think LA will win in 7 games.

My train of thought right now:

+ Allen isn't going to hit 8 three-pointers every night.
- Rondo is capable of averaging a triple-double for the entire series.
+ Lakers bigs can defend Celtic bigs consistently.
+ Game 2 was an off-night by Kobe standards.
+ Game 2 was far from being well-officiated.
- Next three games will be in Boston.
? Lamar still MIA.

IMO, there's no need for panic yet. If the Lakers don't at least split the next two games, then they should really be worried.

And together they got 1 more rebound than Rondo; he's on fire again!

Pretty even game overall until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, which were quite painful for Laker fans. Boston just kicked it up a notch, and outplayed LA at both ends of the court. I think at one point in the final minutes there were 10 unanswered points. Rondo played great at the end, but Ray Allen was the difference tonight IMO. If I was a Celtics fan, I would feel pretty good about going back east for three straight. But I think the Lakers will play well on the road, and still win the series in seven games, which was my original prediction. But I wouldn't bet on it, all I am hoping for is a great series
