Audio Technica ATH ANC7 vs AKG K81DJ?

As someone who will be flying on an airplane a lot and going on long road trips, I know both cans are good at isolating sound.

I have found an AKG for 55 and an AT for 105 dollars( refurbished). As far as I know, they both offer at least decent sound quality especially the AT's with the noise cancelling turned on. Also, i've been told they are both uncomfortable for a big head, which I have. Any solution?

But what I don't know about is sturdiness and durability. Which has sturdier wire?. I tend to get my wires caught on chairs, knobs, etc and I want headphones with wires that can withstand some punishment, not 1mm thick pathetic plastic thing.

Is the AT worth the price jump? Also, which is more portable?

I've used the K81DJ on airplane trips before - they're decent isolators but like all closed cans they're bad at blocking out low frequency sounds, like a jet engine. Active noise cancelers are supposed to be better at this. So I would go for the ANC7 (or IEMs) just for that.
