There seems to be some confusion about the purpose of a meet, and peoples expectations.

Any of these venues should be a last resort, and really only reserved for major sponsored headphone meets. A casual, laid back and inviting atmosphere of someones home is most definitely the preferred venue.

A shopping trip to the city, is definitely not the intent of a 'Head-Fi' meet!

Unfortunately, but true.

Fortunately, not true whatsoever.

Again, a 'headphone meet' should NOT be construed as an excuse for a 'drink-a-thon', let alone a shopping trip!

That's what it's all about

This response really gave me cause for concern!

That's what a meet IS all about! ..... A casual get together of fellow like-minded Head-Fiers' who have a passion (or dare I say, an obsession) for the hobby, preferably held at an experienced members home (we can pitch in a few bucks each for pizza and wings or whatever), where members can share (and show off
) their rigs, talk 'shop', make some new friends over the course of a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday.
I'd offer my place, but I'm located just outside of Barrie, and not central to many members.
