REVIEW: Audez’e LCD-2 Planar Magnetic Headphones - Page 9

I don't really care where it comes from as long as it's a good $250's worth. Right price, right type and right time.

Seems amazing to me how much armchair wisdom comes from those who have never seen or heard the amp they're denigrating.

Thread Starter

I think it's reasonable to get excited about a desktop amp that costs $250, regardless of where it hails from, if it's good.  The selection of $250 home headphone amps that are really good is not all that large.  I have never heard the Asgard, so I have no opinion of it, but its presence in the market is a good thing, IMO.

Anyway, let's please steer this thread back to the LCD-2 in specific, please.  There are enough threads discussing Schiit

Thanks.

hahaha, crafty.  At least give them credit for their name and the many future uses of it in threads.

Well explained, KWK. I always hear this "hall positioning" when reading reviews (or descriptions) of headphones. I believed that it was non-applicable because of the different microphone positioning of different recordings. Plus I never equated the sound of a studio recording with the sound of a live performance. In the context of different frequency balances in different hall seating positions, I understand what Skylab and others are referring to.

That's right...i do have the orange amp that Don built and sold a while back that got traded for my other Cavalli amp.

Would let it go for what it sold for originally if anyone is interested. I hate to do it, but I am in some urgent need of money. It is currently in storage and not being used..and that's a real shame for such a beautiful sounding amp.

Matter of fact my red stacker is packed away and stored in a friend's house, but hope to get back to using that one in a month or two.

the weak-link in the signal transfer. the wa6SE is direct-coupled and you will hear the

difference, as long as the source is competent, in the extension of both ends and the

bass quality, not quantity. also, the wa6SE is three times more powerful as the wa6 with

low impedance phones.

I am assuming then that a WA5-LE and LCD-2 combo will be a killer system (obviusly with a good source too). Correct?

Guess who bought a Stacker II :D ?? mememe   I will post impressions with the LCD-2's when they all arrive sometime this month hopefully.  Thanks Sachu!  I'll probably end up doing a shootout style review sometime at the middle/end of this month.

Congrats man.  I just tried PM'ing sachu but you're too fast.

The orange stacker built by dBel84 has indeed been sold to Tigz.
