Oh yeah, I'm a long way from knowinf how to solder properly!

 

I know it is a poor workman who blames his tools, but I gotta think that a better soldering iron with a more articulate tip would make things much easier... still plugging away though.  Good times!

It may be that a better iron will help you learn faster, as it will put fewer obstacles in your way.  But once you're skilled, you can get good joints with almost any iron.

Perhaps that would have been a better way to put it.... I'm just so darn ham fisted!  Using something with such a large tip has been quite cumbersome and caused me some "obstacles".  If I can get skilled with this iron, I'll be in good shape!  Just gotta work on my technique....  I'm getting better with the desoldering braid though ; )
