Wow, the new HeadFi is really incredible in my humble opinion, it really has a great new modern feel to it, and I'm definitely spending more time on here because of it.

I feel like with other great social networking sites, almost all of them have an iPhone or Droid app to keep you informed when someone sends you a message or comments on a thread you're participating in, etc. so I'm fantasizing about a HeadFi smartphone app :)

I think some of the main features we'd be looking for would be:

* List of recently commented on threads, with updated threads being highlighted

* New PM notification

Do you think a HeadFi Smartphone App would be worth asking for? What sort of features would be on your wishlist? Would you pay for the app if it was made available? Perhaps Jude would be interested in pursuing it if there was enough interest.

Well I'd be happy already if it would be a bit better accessible via smartphone webbrowser :)

Trying to bring this thread back becuase I couldn't find a newer one. I agree with Highflyin9, why aren't people more interested/ is this something to again consider making?

It would be very worthwhile, surfing the forums on an Android 2.2 device right now is very frustrating and slow due to the plethora of processor intensive sliding and moving features.

I would love an interface that scales into the screen, where the forum subcategories would be easily browsable, keeping the headlines on a completely separate tab or something.

I would gladly pay $5 for it, to get rid of the sponsor ads and the such too. Don't vBulleting and SimpleMachines forums already have a mobile version? We're discussing over text and low resolution images here, what's so fancy about this forum software that we can't have a mobile version?

I too would welcome a head-fi app that makes browsing easier on the smartphone. Although I don't know if I'd pay $5 for it simply because I'm doing fine going on head-fi using the normal internet browser while on the go.

Besides, seen the rate at which us audiophiles get sucked into new gimmicks, putting a banner mentioning "new amazing head-fi app for iphone and android" would result in an army of people going "shut up and take my money" biggrin.gif

an app would make sense for a lot of people these days, probably far more than when the poll was posted. I have them for several similar fora...

An application would be great. My Blackberry 9780 can't really handle head-fi (laggy and slow to load).

If we have tapatalk why do we need a native app?
