SOLD: AKG K340 electrostatic/dynamic + accessories

Want to sell (Australia or Worldwide):
An un-modded pair of the legendary vintage AKG K340 electrostatic/dynamic in great condition with extras:

  • 3 pair of pads: original old pleather, new pleather and slightly used velour (the later two are for AKG K240, but they fit.)
  • 2xAKG K240 felt sheets that could be placed under the pads between your ear and the plastic cover.
  • Replacement elastics - 2 different packs.

Bought them for US$200 about 6 months ago, then got the accessories for them, as I liked them a great deal compared to my Beyer DT48 (8 ohm), AKG K702 and IEMs I owned (detail, tonality, bass/mids/treble balance).

Info on the model:

FYI I drove them from an AUNE Mk2 with an Opa627, so they're not that hard to drive to enjoy (at least IMHO)

Condition (as per pics):

Very good, aside from some small scuffs:

  • Some nicks on the metal looking rings and (very few) on the plastic.
  • The plug metal is a bit scratched
  • There is an indentation from my headphone rack on one of the sides of the headband inside (you can see in one pics it's on both sides, but on close ups it straightened out on the right one, but is still on the left one)

The rest is AFAIK good as new  - the cable, the plug, plastic bits. I've replaced the elastics when I got them from the guy who said he was the original owner in the early 2010.

It's Q&A time:

Quote [sic]:

Are there any functional problems with the drivers or any thing? Any rattling or noise comming from the drivers/earcups?

No the drivers sound perfectly fine to me, and they earcups/drivers don't have anything loose in them.

To everyone interested or who submitted trade offers or asked for a 'buy shipped' quote (and I PMed it to and now you're thinking) I'm waiting until Sun 10AM AEST then either selling them to the head-fier with the highest offer or trading them for the most interesting trade offer.

Q & A time:

a)

Are you interested in trading for XYZ?

Initially I didn't want any trade offers, but since I received some 'tasty' ones, feel free to PM me.

b) [paraphrased]:

*sobs* I saw the express shipping/express + insurance quote on the AusPost website... Can you send using registered international post instead?

AusPost 'partners' with EMS for express international shipping to many countries, that's why the price is high and fixed in the 0.75-1.5kg range.

I can send via registered international, but it has no insurance or tracking - and the risk is on you (i.e. of what you paid should the item gets lost in transit). I'll gladly provide you the postage receipt/reg post ID. Express post without insurance will also get you a tracking number.

Oh and, the marking from the headphone stand on the bottom of the headband straightened out :)
