I bought my Darkvoice 337 new in July, 2007 from jasmine_chine (eBay.) Like most DV337's it arrived with damage caused by the tube cage (which was promptly thrown into the trash) rattling inside the packaging and also had minor dents on the corners. This has not affected its performance or sound. A poorly thought out paint touch up was attempted by a well meaning friend of mine who shall not be named. There is some minor overspray around the transformers and near where the tube cage would mount. Overall the amplifier presents well cosmetically when compared to other DV337's.
Its sonic performance is without flaw and is a fantastic amplifier and comes with some excellent tubes. Tubes it includes are:
- Original 6N5PJ tubes.
- Tung-Sol 5998 tubes
- NOS Tung-Sol 6SJ7GT mesh plate tubes
- NOS JAN Philips 6SJ7GT tubes
- Westinghouse 6SJ7 metal can tubes (basically circuit testers)
In the interest of disclosure; if you do a search on Head-Fi you'll see a couple of threads I created where I was having difficulty with my DV337 blowing tubes. The problem turned out to be nothing more than bad tubes with nothing actually wrong with the amplifier. I had received several broken tubes one after another with lead me to believe something was wrong when in fact it was just bad luck. A local shop examined the amplifier and has found nothing wrong.
I find myself listening to my WA6SE more, so this has to go.
