DIY Ipad Camera Connectivity Kit?

Wonder if anyone cracked open a set to see the pinsetting or have any info..

So far I've found out this -

 

27 - Data +  - USB 3

25 - Data -   - USB 2

18 - 3.3 V    - USB 1

16 - Ground - USB 4

That's for the iPod's USB connection to the computer. No idea if the camera connection kit uses the same pins, or if the logic is the same. Certainly worth trying though. One thing - isn't USB supposed to be 5V, not 3.3V?

yeah thats just the USB pinout, there will also need to be some sort of authentication chip to tel the ipad its OK to send digital audio. that will NOT be easy to DIY

hmm looks like 29 bucks would be well spent if it was so complicated.

 

BTW how do you know its a chip?

because its been identified in other digital docks from wadia and such.

 

definitely just buy it at that price, you are looking for a world of hurt even trying to get it done without the chip. if its even possible
