Maverick D1 Powering Speakers?

Thread Starter

Is it possible for the tube preamp output to power a set of bookshelf speakers?

Could I run a cable with an RCA plug on one end and a speaker cable termination on another from the tube preamp directly to a pair of bookshelf speakers? I know it probably wouldn't have much power, but would it work? Or would it be bad for the speakers?

It will not work.

However the headphone output, rated at 1 W into 32 Ohms, might be able to drive 16 Ohm speakers to low volume levels (if they are very efficient, which is not so likely in bookshelf designs).

I think I read somewhere that you can use small powered speakers. Ask Mavaudio directly? They have great customersupport
