Two days ago, I paid FedEx to have my HE-6 expedited Next Day. And well, they arrived the next day! Except, I wasn't available to sign for them. This morning, I set out to go get 'em @ 0900 hours. No sooner than I dashed out the front door that I noticed my ride was sitting on the ground... with two flats.

I drove through road construction last night  but all seemed well, as I walked away from the parking lot. Inspection revealed a handful of of new silver shiny screws. As a taxpayer, I can only hope CalTrans got the best price on these pieces. :normal_smile :

So, here I sit cafeside across from the auto center, getting caught up on emails and getting four new tires. The premium paid to FedEx is now water under the car. But the shoe sale sure looks enticing...

ha ha ha ha

YES! I once got very mad at UPS for saying my DAC was in the truck out for delivery so I ditched classes that day waiting for it. In the end, they failed to deliver and did so the next day. Carriers always seem to screw up when I got something expensive coming in...

They also seem to take their sweet time when the package is heavy too. It doesn't take a week for something to get from northern WA to SoCal...

I'm so spoiled with having free 2-day shipping from Amazon and other big sites.

Amazon continues to impress! Usually, new services will impress and then settle into a rhythm. One that's a ratio between max profits, complaints and acceptance. Apparently, AMZN still wants my business!

By-the-way everyone, I got my hands up around my new HE-6 right now! But I'm cafeside and have errands to run. So, won't be returning home for a few hours. They're beautiful, though.

With my notebook computer open and the cans sitting on the table, curious onlookers seem to be wondering why I haven't plugged them in to the computer yet. They have NO idea!

they sure don't, mere mortals. What they don't know wont hurt them. I ordered an mp3 player before from amazon - it got lost in the mail, or so it seemed. Anyway they were rally nice about the whole thing and gave me back my money. 2 weeks later my sister came back from her holidays, went up to her room and came down with a box.... she said "oh yea, i totally forgot this came for you"

Try some Sudgen integrated if you like the Exposure sound =p.

Didn't know that brand, thanks!

The offering is out of my budget, though.
I might get a hand off the Lavardin IS reference if I'm to put ~2000€ on an integrated. It got glowing reviews ever since it was launched (early 2000s, IIRC)

Also, the JOB 225 picked up my interest.

All this, of course, is if I don't like the EF-6 that I'm yet to try.

Both Sugden and modern Exposure try to be "sweet sounding" like tube amps. Not my cup of tea though many people like them. IIRC the Sudgen integrated (A21se I think) can be had for the same amount as the 2010S2.

On the topic of Exposure, I loved John Farlowe's era Exposure - sure they're ugly shoeboxes but they sound pretty good :D. Price is jacked up now though :<.

Thought you were into tube amps?

The DP1 is sweet too and I like its presentation. It just lack(ed) drive and slam on the SA-31. The Exposure has that aplenty, so the combo is really good.

In this instance, the QuteHD might be too dynamics together with the Exposure :D.

Really need that Ciunas converter to compare them in a better environment...

I'm a box swapper - regardless of tube or ss ;). I love them all - I like tube aesthetic slightly more. Also I just happen to be infected with a disease called tube ocd =p. Love to try stuff whenever possible - I think I spend more on shipping amps/dacs back and forth to dealer than I spend on my rig. If the stars align, I will definitely try to acquire a Pioneer SX-1250 (or the A-gd Master 8) as my SS amp .

Funny you can try high end stuff really easily - but it's darn near impossible to try a Sansui G20000 - I'm really envious of the Silent One :veryevil:

I liked the Dp1 too, but I like other dacs moar. Almost bite on that dac - those seductive leaves engraving haha.

Still got the Octave?

Why the Master-8 in particular? The NFB-27 was quite good but I found it lacked the effortless authority of the Exposure.
