HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone - Page 623

The bass is the best imo. Impactful without controlling the soundscape. The dynamic range is so even and fair. You can hear a triangle in the middle of an orchestra.

Dubstep girl, did you try stax's before?

I'm detecting incoming memberships to the He-6 lounge due to DG's impression

I just sold mine, now I miss my monster that led me the path of amp collecting ending up with 8 vintage amps just for the HE6.

On the bright side, you can now start a new collection of Stax amps instead

Nope, buying the HE6 again but I have this nagging feeling there is a newer version coming soon. Might wait for it.

Along with the SR007/BHSE.

Yup. Fang has definitely hinted at a few new big releases in early 2014. I'm interested to see what he comes out with next, although I'm mostly with speakers now.

Next Hifiman flagship (if any) would probably be the Jade 2.0. He-6.1/He-600/He-7 is kinda too fast for a product release cycle.

I just hope that the next version is just as power hungry. Won't be half as much fun if it could be powered by any other amp.
Call me a masochist but it was half the fun of owning the HE6 and my speakers ended up as a beneficiary too.
Last it was powered by a 1978 Onkyo A-5100 and sounded great. Bass that hit hard, sibilance free treble and smooth speaker like midrange and presentation.

The Jade is a different market but the HE6 is going to be 4 year old soon so maybe not that fast. The HE-500 just doesn't compare so there won't be much overlap.

seems like the bass improved a ton on all my headphones now with this amp.... but so far i think the HE-6 and its bass is whats really impressing me right now.

After owning the HE-6 for a few weeks I sold off all my other flagship headphones. I felt like the HE-6 was a clear step up from every other flagship at the time (HD800, LCD-2, T1).

ill have to listen more this weekend, but the HE-6 sound VERY good, and so do the HE-500 right now actually, though it seems like the HE-6 fixes alot of the HE-500s issues.
