or whats difference vs. the GSX MK2 with HE-6 vs. the first watt amp thing u use? is it like the GSX MK2 is still not optimal? or just preference, or whats the sound like? i thought the GSX MK2 drives the HE-6 at its best, even better than what my other amp option was at first (RSA Darkstar).

Well like Khaine said, I guess you shouldn't worry so much.  You can make the decision for yourself.  IMO the GS-X mk2 can't compete wit the First Watt.  The First Watt can't compete with the MOON.  So it just keeps going.

Never heard the Dark Star.  A buddy of mine liked a B24 better than the Dark Star when he compared them.

well as long as it won't sound underpowered. thats my biggest concern (ya know like bass light, congested, compressed, bright, thin, etc)

I would love to find a HE-6 owner with either this:( expression or this one:mad:. I could place their cans in a well kept loving home, with a playful :veryevil:G-22000.

my HE-6 should be here this thursday, just in time for the weekend when my GSX will arrive, so i'll let u know if i don't like them or something.

if i can't drive with GSX, i probably won't bother with them for a while, since i don't really wanna get a speaker amp (at those prices i might as well go for stax or something, especially with those price drops).

 You DO know we have all the fixin's to bake a trade cake, right?! I'm pulling for both of us to have made satisfying selections. But I'm also open to making adjustments. Potentially, we could send the Stax SR-009 East and watch the HE-6 + Cash come West.

I'm so happy with the He-6 that most of my time now are spent hunting down tubes instead of posting on head-fi :D.

I do miss the time when the hd800 and the he-6 can usually be had s/h for like $800 though.

And here I am running my HE-6 off my little class D amps and I think it sounds just dandy.

I drive my HE-6 quite well with a vintage kenwood ka-8100. Cost me $250 for a mint unit.

Also sounds amazing with my lcd-3!!!

I run mine most often from a Marantz 2265B I picked up for $150. The Pioneer SX-1250 ($600) is exceptional as well, but it's under the weather. I originally bought a Pass Labs Aleph 3 to run the HE-6, but it's usually doing speaker duty now.

Marantz warmth goes well with HE-6 for sure
