HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone - Page 6

I, for one, am looking forward to HE-6 vs LCD-2 threads and comparisons.  I'm excited for competition and for new products.  I'm excited for a little startup company getting things in order, and releasing a new flagship product.

I'm excited for the sound, not the politics behind it.  And you should be too.

I don't think anybody's really bashing the company or the product, just their product development and marketing strategies.  I think there's room for debate on that, and I'm glad Fang is active on the forums. It's always good to know you can talk with the head of the company anytime you want and it's cool to get a window into his thoughts.

There are people very biased commenting here... About the company history, many agree, and I think it is pretty evident there have been improvements. It will be better to wait for the actual release, since it is getting such a bad rap and no one has even listened to them yet. At the end, the company is the one taking the risk, and they seem very confident on their new flagship. Like Imswjm said, the masses will completely lose faith in them if the HE6 and the rest of the line is not consistent.

Why is most hostility coming from Audeze fans, did any of you hear the HE5LE? Also wasnt the LCD-1 introduced quite recently to then be discontiuned and followed by more expensive product?

LCD-1 was a small limited run of 25 units. In a off the shelf housing. More of a proof of concept.

I think the bias is coming from both sides. I'd like to take a look objectively.

As for all this HE-6 talk, ofc its silly to bash or praise it before its even unveiled or heard!!

The points to wonder are this:

the price tag of $1300-1600: If it is this much it should be a significantly excellent product, which I hope it is for the furtherment of planar-magnetic technology. If it is, then even if some of us find it high, then it is warranted. There were complaints at the LCD2 price untill reports came in of its performance.

It seems Fang has sorted out his quality issues, the only thing I want to see is if he sorts out his tuning issues. Im sure he will :).

Gold plated traces: Knowing what I know about this technology, I dont understand the reasoning behind this, maybe it's too early for him to say, but if Fang can explain the reasoning it would be helpful.(i understand if you decline to at the moment but it would be good to have a response either way).

The only person to comment is thinker, and his explanation of 'solf golden sound' doesn't really cut it for the more analytical minded.

I am exited to see what Fang produces with his new high and low end drivers. Bring on CanJam impressions and photos! :D

Hear hear!

Politics is craps, but actual physical results are the proof

Well, I am thinking of explain this to you, but I am afraid that somebody will steal our secret. Can you keep it as a secret and promise me do not tell anybody else?

I find you quite rude, all you had to do was reply on here sorry you cant reveal since other companies might take your idea. Not play some silly charade and send a sarcastic PM to me.
I was trying to help you in this thread by giving you the benefit of the doubt, but seems I shouldnt bother any more.

I should have listened to Sachu, Im done with this as well.

What's rude about wanting to have a private discussion about proprietary designs?

I am not sure what your "rude" means. I will be very upset if you believe a funny story about President Franklin Roosevelt is "rude". Actually we never went to competitor's thread and talk about their products, not to say in a very mean and negative way. In addition, we will never let any friend or employee in any website writing a "donation to head-direct link" in signature.

Here is a story about the former American President Rosevelt. A correspondent inquired him about some news: “ Mr.President, could you please tell me some secrets about the navy  base?” Rosevelt answered: “ can you promise me not to tell anyone else?” “Yes.” The correspondent was very happy. “So can I”. Rosevelt said.

whats rude is he didnt want a private discussion. He posted that Roosevelt comment above instead. To me that is rude. It's a silly game.

Also Nankai, I am not an emloyee of Audez'e, I may have had spoken to them, but that doesn't mean I am part of Audez'e.

And I didnt have a "donate to company" thread. I had a link to buy a valued friend and member (Smeggy) the Headphone he wants because he cant afford it thread. And many others on the forum agreed too as they donated to help bring him that gift. You just seem bitter that Smeggy didn't pine after a HE5LE instead.

Oops, sorry for my misunderstanding about donation, Kabeer. Head-Direct will be very happy to donate a HE-5LE to the valued friend for free ("free" means nobody need to pay Head-Direct for this HE-5LE headphones). Please let the firend email to head.direct@gmail.com his headfi ID, his personal information and his mailing information. A HE-5LE will be shipped tomorrow via international UPS or DHL express mail.

I HIGHLY doubt that's what's going on here.  I think he's trying to say that you came into this thread, clearly representing a competing headphone, albeit unofficially (via signature and attitude) and had the gall to ask him about his proprietary R&D.

i find it quite funny :/

I don't think Nankai is bitter about Smeggy not going after a HE5LE, at least I didn't get that impression from his posts. But I also didn't find that story about Rosevelt funny, it was, IMO, unnecessary. But perhaps this entire incident was just a misunderstand?
