Sounds like you're getting ready to sale the wrong amp.

You can try the Liquid Fire or the new GS-X other than that I don't know..

I did not hear LCD3 only have LCD2 but I think it is just their character and I think it shame because if they would bring openes, more airnes, more transparent, less bass, bigger resolution I think it could be there because tonal of instruments and voices is good. And I do not understand why it is so dark because this temperature is not neutral and even if they was more brighter still it will not be harsh.

Maybe your only options is change/try different setup, better dac, I readfrom purin that Apex Peak Volcano is probably one of the most clear amp in market so it is probably very very good amp for them.

I am very happy with the synergy with the HD800's and HE-6, plus there's no way I can get the LCD-3's to image/ open up as well as them; I've just realized I can't make miracles unfortunately.

I'll gather with local head-fiers and try other amps, but otherwise, I think the LCD-3's are not for me

How do you like the LCD-2.2s?

The lcd-2 is one of my most disliked flagships, especially the rev1. I much preferred the lcd-3 to them and figured they'd be the only audez'e I'd own.

The lcd2 remind me of the nights I go out with friend, and the really squashed-in/ bloated and bass heavy sound systems playing music at the venues. I guess I do not enjoy the house sound signature of audeze although the lcd3 is very good; it should be priced at 1500$.

It's too bad because I absolutely love the feel and materials of the headphone. Maybe I should consider silver recabling? But I don't want to spend so much money and yet not be satisfied. Right now I already have DHC on them.

I'm also realizing how much soundstage and imaging is important for me. I think I should just sell everything I have and jump for Stax 009 or wait for the senn stats. It's a lot of money for a kid my age though... :/

IME the stock cable makes the LCD3 closed in and a little muddy. 

Many cables help, like Moon Silver Dragon (my favorite that I use) and Q-audio cable.

LCD3s are very cable sensitive.

And the LCD3s take a while to break in and change a lot.

I got them a year ago and they didn't sound really good until a couple of months ago.

This is with the RMA thing.

I love'em now, but it took time.

Well, I'm using a DHC nucleotide cable, I will be meeting up later this week with a friend and his lcd3+ q cable. I'm familiar with q cables, and do expect them to be a step up at least. Hopefully they cable does make as much of a change as you've said!

Yeah, dleblanc, cut your losses, sell the Audezes, and try HE-500s, which are not dark or bloated but still have nice bass. Just my 2 cents from your comments and what seem to be your preferences.

The stock cable on the HE500s is fine (though there is still improvement with other cables, it's not necessary). $700 and you're done.

009s are overkill unless you have a giant budget, and you may find them too bright, and that's a lot of money to risk.

The HE500s leave a lot left over in the future for a good amp and source later on. I like my HE500s as much as my LCD3s.

I also could not stand the LCD2 rev1 (I gave up on them and sold them as too woozy and undefined and syrupy with a strange annoying spike in the upper mids on vocals), so maybe we have similar preferences.

He has the HE-6.  Why would he buy the HE-500s?

Oh wait...  Dang, didn't I just do that??

I'm wondering if his pair might be veiled. IMO, the LCD-3 are very similar to the HD800.

If the LCD-3 is to your liking signature wise and not veiled, not even the HE-6 will beat it.
