Hello, so on my tube amplifier YAQIN MS-2A3 I do my live HE-6 connect is dangerous?

Be careful with tube amps and direct speaker tap connection for the HE-6s, if that is what you are using. You may need some resistance on the wire to bring the load down closer to 8ohms.

It is a transformer coupled tube amp. These amps require that a load be placed across the terminals at all times in order to protect the transformer. If you have headphones connected directly to the binding posts, you should be just fine. Many people however like to have the added security of some resistors in parallel on the output.

The simplest thing to do here is to get a 10W 8ohm resistor (up to 10ohm will be fine) and connect it directly through the wire hole in the binding posts. Then use a banana/XLR4 adapter for your HE-6.

Just a quick FYI to the team: pulled trigger on pre-order for the Ether. Let the in-home comparo with the HE-6 commence!

(er, well, in June or something at any rate).

I just found out about the existence of the ether last night and that definitely looks interesting. The headphones from mrspeakers has sounded good but nothing that I would want to own. Hopefully it competes well with other stuff in this price range

Interesting...

HiFiMAN said that the HE-6 will be discontinued and that there would be a new model between the 560 and 1000.

It was bound to happen at some point because there was the HE-4, HE-5 which went to the HE-400, HE-500 so it was going to go to HE-600 or in this case I guess the HE-1000.

That post doesn't show HiFiMan saying it.  It only show another person like you or me saying - which means nothing..

Need some help with a new tube amp and my HE-6.  The amp has two sets of windings off the transformer, one is for 32ohm and the other is for 600ohm.  It was recommended to use the 600ohm setting for planar headphones.  The amp is custom built so there are no official spec, but the builder says the output on the 600ohm winding is 3/4wpc.  The sound with my HE-6 is more like a 3 or 4 watt amp.  At 3/4watt into 600ohm, can anyone calculate what I am getting when connected to the HE-6, because it really drives the HE-6 well.
