Yeah - I'll stick with Trevor - I've had nothing but very good dealings with him.  And he's pretty fast as well.  Also, he will make the cable hardwire ready for you if you ask.  I think he calls it tinned or something like that..

I have both silver dragon and black dragon for my he-6. I love them both. but I prefer the slightly gentler, darker presentation of the black dragon copper cable. I am a bit treble sensitive.

does the black dragon increase the bass on the he-6? (vs. stock? vs. silver dragon?)

surprisingly, the stock cable is a good sounding cable, but I find it is a rather cheap looking cable with a bit cheap build quality. I have heard story here of people saying silver cables are thin sounding. not the case here. silver dragon has big and powerful bass. but the black dragon has a slightly bigger bass and just as tight sound. the stock cable also has a bit more bigger bass than the silver dragon cable, but it is not as tight and clean. they are both excellent but I still prefer a high quality copper cable for my he-6 as I prefer them to have a bit darker overall presentation. but if you like maximum resolution for your cans, go with silver cables. I almost pulled the trigger for a toxic cable silver cable for my he-6. some dude had one for sale on canuckaudiomart. that thing was sold in about 15 segonds.

the toxic cable is a very nice cable.

Now he tells me ! I should get the 009 next week.

I upgraded the stock cable to a Toxic Silver Poison and it was a massive difference. Far more than I ever anticipated or expected.

It elevated the HE-6's from 3rd choice phone to my favorite. I have since replaced the SP with the Silver Widow and bought 2 Widows for my LCD2.2 & HD800's

What kind of upgrade did the Silver Widow have over the Silver Poison? $755 for the Silver Widow is too much for me. Also looking at the Virus cable.

$755? How long do you want it?

My 6ft version cost £200 ($300) although I think the price is slightly higher now.

The SP was sold before I received the SW so could not directly compare. However the differences were slightly greater detail, bass depth and dynamics. These are the only improvements I am certain of without a direct comparison. There have been some reviews comparing both. There was a far greater benefit upgrading from stock to SP than SP to SW.

I'm not using a stock cable (BTG-audio 8 strand). It was a slight upgrade over the stock cable, but I don't have the stock cable to compare anymore and my ears are much better now.

Toxic Cable's profile lists the Silver Widow litz at 445 GBP.

The link I found (http://www.head-fi.org/u/279519/toxic-cables) lists a 6ft Silver Widow @ £225 for headphones.

The Crystal Picccolino is priced at £445

Awww crap, I've been reading the prices wrong. Okay that makes a lot more sense now. It's at $240 GBP which is 410 USD which is still a lot but is borderline affordable.

You had me worried for a moment...I am thinking of getting my T1's recabled with SW.

I suppose the stock cable is decent, will get you down the street. But my Silver/Copper Wireworld cable brought refinement. And parking space down the street.

Comparing the Headphone out vs the HE adapter box from HFM, I had a thought that I was not disciplined the first go round and wasn't sure if the volume matching was done right.  Glad I re-did the exercise.

The volume needed using the headphone out was considerably higher than out of the HE adapter box.  To the point I could not run both speakers and the HE-6 on my head as the speaker volume was shaking the walls.  Then with the HE adapter box it required just a little more volume to reach the "usual and customary" listening volume.  Which leads me to a question about the HE box.

Has anyone bypassed the stock resistors in it?  Look at the pic - there are small resistors inline on the positive leads as well as one very large resistor across the + and - posts on both left and right.  What are they for (the big ones)?  I know robrob (something like that) made changes to the resistors but didn't bypass them.

I'm getting at how to modify the HE adapter box to bypass the resistors and make it a "direct/naked speaker tap box" but do you guys think the sound quality changes that much with the resistors in the path?  Is it worth it?

Thanks for any input.
