I thought that the audeze shrank the soundstage some. Things were more centered, but too much so I thought. But I have not done some of the other mods so that might make a difference.

I've done all the mods to my 6s and I really like what I'm hearing with the Audeze vegan pads. I tried the leather first and found they took away rather than improve the sound.

:sigh: If only the Vegan's were Triple Black and not fuzzy...I'd run 'em today!

I have ordered some leather pads from Audeze for my HE6. Might have to try the vegan later.

Is there a consensus amongst HE6 folks on which performs better - leather or vegan?

There are trade-offs and then one's preference.

Of those who have tried both, Vegan performs a lot better.

Briefly, in which way?

Add: I'm almost certain these comments could be found among several pages. Perhaps, an up-to-date "At-a'glance" summary. Then I could quickly analyze if any advantages for the Vegan outweigh my phobia. :normal_smile :

From what I heard, the leathers are too closed in and congested.

I'd probably hold on the Vegans first. I'll be giving the Hifiman Hybrid pads a try. Maybe they will be better at half the cost.

Thanks wuwhere. :sigh: They're certainly priced to move but visually did not move me. Guess I'd have to audition 'em. Despite the hybrid touch, may not be enough for me to overcome 'Poodle Syndrome.'

You mean the new HE560 pads?  I'm also curious if it'd improve the fit of my HE6.  Anyone has experience with that that can share?  Not that I'm any major issue with the stock pleather pad but compared to my other active headphones HE6 is indeed the least comfortable.
