On that note, when you upgrade your Krell, I'd be interested in your KAV-400xi.

Fwiiw, from someone who uses a blue circle hybrid amp for the he-6, this might be a nice find for someone

Anyone ever hear Clayton amps? How about something like this: http://www.triaudio.com/s40.html. Sound characteristic description seem similar First Watt amps, but with more WPC.

I own an older version, the M70s, which are monoblocs. However, they would be overkill for a HE6.

But that's the spirit of the 6s. It's not about enough, it's about overkill. wink.gif

Gents,

What is the proper method of hooking/using a speaker tap setup to minimize any potential of damage to the HE-6?  I envision leaving the speaker tap setup in place, UNPLUG the headphone from the speaker tap setup, turn on system, zero out the volume dial, then plug headphone in, start music and gradually turn up volume.

Close?

I believe most well made amps, preamps and sources mute their output briefly to prevent turn-on pop or thump.

I leave my HE-6 connected to my amp during turn-on of either the amp or source. I never heard a pop or thump.
