Honestly I am not getting any noise floor with PWD connected, did try with Schiit Bifrost (unbalanced) for a brief period I can hear noise with it, but with PWD it is dead salient. Vol level I am using is also not high should be around 75 db, with this song if exists noise floor should be evident, I am only enjoying those piano notes

Mine has noise floor without a source connected! Anyway, I'm glad you don't get any noise floor. Enjoy the amp as it is truly wonderful.

He-500:  The looks of the girl you meet in the bar at 10 PM after 1 scotch and in light that's a bit subdued.

HE-6: Same girl next morning in the bright light of day when you wake up next to her.

HD-800:  Same as before but with your wife hammering on the door of your hotel room.

I know...childish...but it's the most visual way I can depict the differences, both 3 present 'a' reality.
Not gonna put myself in some "HD 800" situation biggrin.gif

TH 900 : Same girl when you are making out with her later at your place.

HE-6: Same girl next day in the early morning light .

HD-800:  Same girl next day in bright sunlight at 12 pm.

True, that version's more accurate....I was thinking about my last experience with the HD-800 while I typed it,  tried listening to a 1937 mono recording of the Berliner Philharmoniker....NOT enjoyable.

Think I'll have to give the Fostex a try, been tempted before but with classical music...I'd be inclined to say 'no way'.

I have only heard the 007 with woo stuff and it was intriguing but it did not engage me the way the he-6 does when paired with good equipment. Doubt I want to spend enough to find out, but who knows.

Actually I love both headphones (HE-6 and SR009) for different reasons.

What you guys think about the Schiit Ragnarok pairing with the HE-6?  Check out post #1690

Sadly it doesn't really tell us anything.

+1.

It's rightly said not to beat it until you tried it but though they're much loved on the US side of the Atlantic, I haven't been overly impressed with the brand's products so far (Lyr etc).  But who knows, this might be a game changer, hope springs eternal.  I'd definitely want some more -and neutral to the extent that's possible while either sponsoring deals or new toy syndrome are around the corner- reviews as well as a personal audition.

Or put this way:  I'd hold on to that F1-J for the time being if I were you :-)

O I am, I'll have to have them side by side before I have an opinion.  Stay tuned.

So, I initially thought HE-6 was revealing more details, but in fact it makes it more noticeable because of the way the separation is done.

interesting observation. To me HE6 and HD800 are on par for separation. Actually, separation to me is one my top yard sticks for assessing gear. B/c I like to mix and remix, hearing every sound that's there makes things more fun for me. Both cans do this really well but need to be married to the right gear. its the same for me vis a vis tonality, but I am really not a stickler for that anyway.
