HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone - Page 882

post #13216 of 19440

I highly recommend you guys listen to Eva Cassidy with HE-6.  You will be glad you got the HE-6.  ;) Tell me after if you have ever listen to such realistic vocals in your life with headphones.

Start with Songbird, then Simply Eva.  You will not be disappointed, you will hear the most realistic sound ever.

You will not be disappointed. To get her full vocal range, I'd also recommend Live At Blues Alley.

I got a feeling there are variances to each individual HE-6.  I think I got the best one.  Man is it amazing.  I think mine is better than the STAX 009.  :D  I hear everything on the recordings!!

I have Beta 22 -> HE-6

But once you hear it on my restored 1974 Sansui AU-717 with 80w/ch there is no comparison, esspecialy when it comes to the quality and quantity of bass and articulation of midrange. When plugged into the speaker taps of my restored pioneer sx-1250 the increase to 160 w/ch take it up one more level but not as big an improvement as 40 to 80 watts.
So I conclude that more clean power is better.
All IMO.
Look familiar?

Songbird is just one of those albums where every song is good. :)

She did a cover of a Sandy Denny song "Where Does The Time Go" I like and "Autumn Leaves" is good too.

Give Patricia Barber a whirl too. Try Constantinople

Two of my absolute favorite.  Along with Cassandra Wilson and Diana Krall.

Wow, so the consensus seems to be speaker amps for the 6. I think Jerg has an EF6. I should ask him what his opinion would be on pairing it with the HE 6.

:sigh: I only got up to 265 wpc with a dual mono construction receiver, no resistors.
