Yes. I've a question or two for Gilbert, Glenn and Min. (Audio Circle; 2359glenn|studio; Tube Audio Lab)

So I finally got my Double Helix cable today & hooked the HE-6 up directly to the speaker taps of the Rotel RB 1080 power amp controlled by Audio GD Master 1 pre. I get the speaker amp thing now :L3000:, was using Meier Classic & WA22 before.

For lack of a better analogy, it is like i was watching a movie on my iMac screen before & am watching it on a 50 inch LED now. The iMac screen was actually not bad but can't go back now.

Would be grateful if someone can read the Rotel's specs & let me know how much power is it capable of pushing into the HE-6.

Some pics of the amps internals :

By chance do you know what the resistance of your headphones are? I think my HE-6 measured 61 Ohms. Likely 25-32 watts into 50-64 Ohms... thereabout.

Though, in advance I'll stand corrected.

No, I don't. Thank you.

Trust us, you have way more than enough power and reserve. That's a fine looking amp!

Are you posting pix later today?

Here are some crappy pics from my phone. Its 1 am here & my cameras in the bedroom. My wife will not take it kindly if I wake her up while rummaging for my camera in the closet so that I can post some nice pics on Head-fi  :D.

I was using the Audio GD NFB 7 Dac + Master 1 pre + Rotel RB 1080 for my speaker set up (PSB Synchrony One's). I then got the Master 2 mono's & so the Rotel was just sittin in storage.

I am using balanced  DHC "Peptide Hybrid"  silver-copper 26awg litz cable with "Triple Treat" adapters which allows you to switch the cable between HD 800 , Hifiman & Audeze HP's.

I have to get a good equipment rack soon, so I can organise all my equip better.

NFB-7 + Master-1 buddy!

Have you tried other preamps? Did you also find that the Master-1 made music much more 3D?

HE-6 Update.:

icon_thumbsdown.gif I'm congested! Currently in-session with newly hardwired cans but experiencing congestion with ears-nose-throat. And frequent external noises in my new neighborhood is really making evals tuff!

thumbsup.gif Craftsmanship is top notch! And today I got a new headphone stand. Need to style it and compose a new photograph for the wonderful membership in this thread. Maybe Friday/Saturday I'll post.

oooo  Looks like this is a piece of gear I won't have to upgrade for a long long time.

Only complaint I have is they didn't use a knob instead of buttons...

I have the Cayin A-70T Integrated / Power Tube  amp in my upstairs bedroom system. It has a line in to the power amp section (which bypasses the tube pre) so I can also use it with the Master 1 pre :

http://www.cayinusa.com/Product_Name.asp?Category=26:56:40&types=1

Would it be worth while to connect the HE 6 to this instead of  the Rotel ? It weighs nearly 60 pounds & will be a pain to drag it downstairs & have to undo all the current speaker wiring. Plus I have to carry it upstairs again & redo all the cabling if it does not sound any better. I think majority of the opinion on this thread is that solid state work's better with the HE-6 rather than tubes, hence am a bit reluctant to invest all the time & effort. But if the "elders " on this thread think the Cayin might sound better than the Rotel then will give it a try.

So do you guys think I should go through all the effort & try the Cayin or just sit back & enjoy the Rotel ?
