Now I can't wait to get the Audeze pad I ordered. Am I missing any other important mod?

The fuzzer mod.

So that's different than the grill mod?

Yes, invented by Jerg, it is based on Audeze technology.

"Audeze’s recent LCD-X and XC had a new driver technology called “Fazor” which is a waveguide array that sits on top of the drivers and help direct the soundwaves more uniformly out of the diaphragms through the slits"

Doing all 3 mods: Vegan pads, grill, and fuzzer.

Only when all three are done does the HE-6 take great leap forward.

I already feel its taken a great leap forward with just the pads and grill mods. But I'll try the fuzzer mod this week, thank you!

Since I lack any tools or screens, I'm considering running the cans naked and simply cover them when not in use. Need to see how I feel once I get my Champagne pouring, tea serving and ice-cream scooping hands on my HE-6.

tools are just a pair of scissors + Mesh load tray from wallmart. I will post the screens in a day or two. I takes less than 30 mins to complete.

I just removed the cotton and felt and kept the original grill on mine. I might try the grill mod if I'm up to it.

This sells for 14 bucks at Walmart or Office Depot.

What does it take to remove the grills, fingernail, butter knife or small screwdriver?

Fingernail is all it takes. The retaining rings are held in place by four small little nubs on the ring.

I just did this. I used my finger nails. The plastic ring holds the grill in place. It has 4 small tabs around, at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. Pry it at one of the tabs then it makes it easy to remove. When putting it back there is a slot for each tab. Align one tab first and the rest will fit right in.

Great...thanks for weighing in! Will give it a go since it's readily reversible.
