No nothing been doing it for years.  AKG and Senns are good to go.  Denon and Fostex TH900 no room to play with.  Plus the F1J is nosie free - not like the Emo amps.

HPO on the G-22000 would satisfy easily. Would also like to hear the D7000 with resistors on the tube monaural amps as well.

Stop it, man! You are killing me! "Fry!" I love it. (I appreciate the laugh, though.)

Just got my HE-6 back from Hifiman!!!

They sent me a brand new pair (no accessories, just the headphone with some pleathers)

Very happy with their service and support, listening to the HE-6 straight out of the GS-X mk2, i forgot how good these headphones sound, maybe this pair sounds better than my old pair too, the mids don't seem recessed like on the old pair.

Well assuming the pictures of the set of he-6 turn out well I should have a set in a couple of weeks

I will never let mine go, unless the He-7 can completely blow the He-6 out of the water/into Mordor blah blah :D.

One of favorite albums on the He-6

^^ Epic album. I'm glad to know others listen to black metal on their HE-6. :D

I've been thinking about toying with hybrid tube speaker amps for the HE-6, and I came across this:

http://www.amazon.com/Qinpu-Q-2-Hybrid-Integrated-Amplifier/dp/B001TGDB9Q

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6dmUadZTtc <-- driving a JBL Paragon.

Anyone have any experience with something like this?

As long as Hifiman can produce a better driver, I'm sure it is definitely possible. With the cheap hacks/mods I've done to my HE-6, it's already so much better than stock.

If the 560s do as claimed by increasing clarity, more efficient and added bass, why not go with them? I'll be curious to get impressions I still don't think they'll be dethroning the 6. The 6s were a statement piece for Dr Fang. It is not to suggest he's not capable of taking his considerable knowledge and "tweak" the 6. But I don't know that there is sonically anything to do. Physically, build quality, reliability. In fairness to his 6s, no other headphone invites you to consider speaker amps that shows what they can do. There would be far less mention about the QC if they played well with headphone amps. evil_smiley.gif

Wasting your money. Sorry to be so blunt.

Some birdies told me the 560s aren't better than the 6. 6s still hold technical advantage like it does over the 500s, just less so. Plus, no one is stupid enough to charge less for better.
