thanks. wanted to give it a quick test first.  So i should use the two sided tape right to the headphone?  thanks

That's exactly what I did! But I'd hold off on using the ones Audeze provided as they are very strong. There's a mod I will be doing over the weekend that can be game changing so I'd hold off first.

For placing the instruments I think the hifiman pleather may be a bit better than the audeze but still working it through. Also had a tube go so it messed up my comparison. The audeze are a pain to get on so not sure how much patience I will have either

In my frustrated attempts to get the flanges to sit in, i managed to work them in better when its done this way.

Try to grab the plastic ring lifting up from the inside, and pressing down on the outside.

( I tried Beyer Jmoney n Alphapads, tot i lost some bass n the highs gone up a notch..so took them out..now sticking to the AD2000 pads with some stuffing to angle the pads )

Got my Audeze pads in the other day.  Found that by putting the HiFiMan pad ring into the Audeze pad I could mount them quite easily and not mess with the sticky back tape solution.

Haven't done a lot of listening with them yet, but so far, I like them.  As I had hoped, I find imaging better, with the center fill better.

I may have to get a pair of their leather pads and see if they seal better.

Thanks all. I am going leave them on a couple days and give me a try. Will wait to see what people come up with for more long lasting fastening. They sound pretty good. And they certainly are comfortable. Sound is maybe a touch softer and further away compared to pleathers.

All material have been bought. I should have time tomorrow night to start. Probably clear results by Sunday.

+1 not a trait I've heard either.  When compared to the HD800s in this area I can tell where the HD800s are a tab bit better in foucus / but not much.  However, when compared to the LCD-3 I can tell very easy where the HE-6 is better all around in this area.  Also the HE-6 will lose foucus and get very fuzzy on less capable amps - IMO.

so im finally listening to the he-6 with my amp.

the amp wasn't properly biased, so i had to open up and fix that. now it gets really hot just like a good class A amp should!

anyways sounds great with the HE-6!

not sure on the overall sound of the HE-6 yet. still sounds kinda dark in a way, and not exactly super resolving at microdetails like an hd 800, but the transparency and black background are very nice! its a nice balance, its like a darker version of the beyerdynamic T1.

the bass is incredible really, i wish it had a bit more slam though at times (i think i need to buy an LCD-X soon). the sub-bass is perfect though, and the amount and balance of bass is the best i've heard next to the beyerdynamic T1 and the Audeze's. the bass is very tight clean and controlled, more than any other headphone. sometimes the bass feels a little lacking in bloom, but its mostly that its very neutral and clean. infected mushroom's converting vegetarians sounds amazing with the he-6, basically this album was made for the HE-6! the bass feels almost speaker like at times.

more to come! but so far, im happy with the sound this amp gives the He-6. it drives them effortlessly. with full dynamics too! the HE-6 sound incredible with rock music, with the gsx mk2, it was a little more smeared in faster passages.

When I first had the HE-6 the lack of centre was most disconcerting on the WA6 SE. Proper amping and Audeze Vegan pads resolved that issue

the WA6-SE could not drive the HE-6 at all. clipped without ever getting loud, it just doesn't have the current needed for them.
