Anyone ever paired the DNA Sonett with Grado GS1000s?

Thread Starter

I've heard lots of wonderful things about the DNA Sonett and I'm just wondering if anyone's tried it with a pair of Grado GS1000s (my current cans)?

I've read that there isn't any hum, but the reason I'm asking about the GS1000s specifically is that the only post I've seen regarding their pairing is, "GS1000. Grayed-out tone colors. Was driving with the Sonett... it is possible that there is an impedance incompatibility problem", from the first post of http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/426947/your-favorite-sound-at-the-show-so-far. Maybe the selectable output impedance was on the wrong setting, or maybe mike1127 doesn't like the GS1000s mids to begin with

Thanks for reading.

I have the same exact question except with the PS1000s. Even though these cans don't sound identical, I believe that an amp that works with one may very likely work with the other (i.e. Cary Xciter).

Brandnewgame, what amp do you use for your GS1000s? Did you ever pull the trigger on the Sonett?

I would like to know this too. TIA
