FS: K1000 Amp- Pass DIY Mini Aleph

<<<<SOLD>>>>

I am selling an excellent sounding DIY "Mini Aleph J" amp built by Tim Rawson. It uses Nelson Pass designed circuit boards made by BrianGT of gainclone fame. The amp has premium parts including IXYS rectifier and Cardas connectors. It is wired as an integrated amp with a pair of mono PEC pots. It puts out about 10 watts of class A power.

I have tried many amps with my K1000s and this was one of the best. The only one I owned that beat it is my current Tektron tube amp that costs over 10 times as much. The Mini Aleph beat out my previous class D amps easily. I doubt that you will find a better K1000 amp under $1000.

It has a very clean, dynamic sound with a sweet top end and is not fatiguing with the K1000's. It would also make a killer speaker amp with some efficient speakers.

Asking $395 (shipped in the continental US.) (+2% for PayPal)

Mini J Front

Mini J Corner

Mini J Inside

Best,

Paul

If you could put up some images that would be great.

Any link to the site of the builder?

Can it be switched to 220V?

Does it have XLR inputs? And if not can it be modded to accept balanced input?

The transformer only has one set of primaries and works for 120v so you would probably need to replace the transformer to use in other countries but it is moot for now as I really only want to ship to the US.

The boards support balanced input but are wired and populated for single ended inputs. For the adventuresome DIYer I can supply an extra unpopulated set of BrianGT Mini Aleph driver boards with output power transistors and also input FETs for an extra $30. I would also sell these separately...

Sounds quite nice now however :-)

Thanks for your answer Mourip.

I won't go for it since I'm not a DIY at all and it's probably easier to keep it in the US with the voltage.

If only I would get emails about threads I subscribed to again, ond day I do, the other day I don't it seems.

Good thing I checked back.
