Ins and outs side by side. I wear socks by Klein.

Outside-out

The outside is not that dirty, as they are always inside the shoes. It is the part that touches my feet that I am concerned about.

Never thought about that before - good point. I think it may be inside-out from now on.

Interesting thread :)

Outside-out for me. However, I soak them for almost an hour before laundry, so both inside outside should be clean enough.

The washing machine moves them around they they adjust all the way in one of the directions. I can't recall ever seeing socks halfway turned when I'm moving them to the dryer from the washer or when I collect them from the dryer.

You must have a pretty poor washing machine for it not to be able to wash both the insde and outside at the same time.

Well the OPer sounds like a very thorough, organized and cleanly fellow so the only option is to wash them twice. One wash inside out and one wash outside out. Then iron them and neatly fold them and place them in a scented drawer.  LOL

I soak mine in disinfectant for a day or two then wash them however they were taken off. Or burn them and buy new ones depending on funk factor. j/k

All of the above is simply genius.  Thank you;  I will employ this approach effective immediately.
