70's Rock (Vanishing Point)

Thread Starter

So I just finished watching "Vanishing Point" for the first time. Well, since I heard the song by Mountain called "Mississippi Queen", I need to get my fix on some 70's rock with those drums and that emotion. What other songs/bands are out there with that style?! I'm  thinkin' this music is my alternative to Kowalski's uppers.

Thanks in advance

Mountain basically modeled its sound on Cream. I actually like Blood On The Sun and Theme From An Imaginary Western better than Mississippi Queen. For Yasgur's Farm is also a nice song. Try getting Leslie West's Mountain and Mountain's Climbing to begin with.

Leslie West's solo stuff is good too. Does a killer version of "House of the Rising Sun".

Twin Peaks is a live release with some good versions of Mountain's hits.

I love their version of Stormy Monday (off of Over the Top). I think its one of the best live cuts ever.

You might like this, although its without Corkey Laing.
