I would say Kinwa should get a nicer usb chip

M2TECH are licensing the hardware, plus there is a number of quite serious new players entering the market. Ti are gonna lose some serious ground, in fact they kinda have already IMO.

you guys with spdif. hey ii've been spdif (or rather AES) through and through,m couldnt get me to go near USB, but async and other new schemes that are making almost it jitter free or the jitter becomes irrelevant due ti the clock being thrown away, pretty exciting also sample rates of 384khz and above are now possible with almost no jitter. forget the Ti 270x its a dinosaur.

the actual concept of USB is very sound indeed. a buffered differential streaming music format makes issues of power supply and dodgy cables much less of a worry

DAC-19 and Reference 5  can build custom order from customers , customers can order the non-USB version , we have designed the new PCB can build 2 coaxial + 1 optical input, or 1 coaxial + 2 optical input without any sound degrade. If you have interest ,please send a email to

Oh gawd now they make it so when my unit is soon to arrive and I will not use USB in fact I need another coaxial input. :/

two words: "galvanic isolation".

yes, some USB devices do it too...but you can count them on one hand AFAIK.

I thought this was something serious like a shortage of PCM1704's (they were discontinued at one point.)    I do believe the DF1704 is on the axe block.

Frankly their USB implementation gives this great designer a little tarnish.   He would do better to not include it,  as it "cheapens" these works of art.   Either do what Arye does or leave the USB off IMO.    Can you imagine a Ref One with Arye's USB implementation ?

Just letting you guys know:

Dear Sir,
I think 15 days can in stock.
If you want USB version, you are worth for the waiting.
Kingwa

He sent me multiple emails, all saying 15 days. Hopefully it really is 15 days and also a better implementation.

Maybe now Audio GD will finally fit their DAC's with real asynchronous USB implementations.  Since the Ti TUSB3200 Wavelength Audio solution will likely cost a lot for licensing, I say they should use the Cypress USB chip with Xilinx programmable chip like Musiland and HiFace

I completely agree with you!

I gt a reply from kingwa that the DAC 19 DSP is available now with the USB implementation.

I don't know the specs of the usb input chip.
