What is the best DAC/AMP out there?

Hi. I was considering buying the iBasso D4, but as they seem to be out of stock for an eternity I started looking into other options. And as this is head-fi I thought I skip one level and extended my budget to around $500... For now, the Predator caught my eye   But, is there another good option? 

 

I'd like to use it as a DAC with my work PC and my home notebook, so portability would be great... And as I don't like it to sit around and do nothing when I don't use any of the computers, I thought I could use it with my fuze. That's why I'm looking into dac/amp combos at the moment.

 

But if there is another portable DAC only that's better than the Predator, I might start looking into two separate thingys.

P.S.: using mainly re0 and es7 at the moment...

I was in the same dilema a couple months back. After reading many reviews I went with the Pico AMP/DAC over the RSA Predator & D4.

IMHO, HeadAmp Pico is better than the Predator. The DAC used in the Predator is a simple PCM270x USB DAC.

What's the DAC inside the Pico, Wolfson 8740 ? one of them or two?
