I've been looking around for an alternative case for the Hammond enclosure for the CKKIII, because I don't like how they look all that much. Preferably not too expensive, and large enough for the board and the power transformer, size isn't really an issue. Anyone have suggestions?

The pics look pretty nice for a $40 case but you will have to be mindful of the height of the caps you pick for C33-C36 if you go with that one.
HiFi2000 - GX247. It is 9 x 6.7 x 1.5. Like MisterX's option, you'll need to be mindful of the height of a few components, but this case is very doable. My very own CKIII is in one. Fits like a glove.
I purchased mine from Audiokit in Italy. Yes, they do ship to the states and are pretty cool people.

I used cases from the line MisterX referenced for both the fancy CTH & budget b22 in my sig. They do *look* nice for the price but you are getting what you pay for & might need to order 2 or more to make sense WRT to shipping costs. Everything is very thin except the alum faceplate (which is not very thick either) & sheet metal screws abound, but it's a serviceable case w/decent top vent holes.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions. Anyone have any ideas for any sturdier ones that don't cost an arm and a leg to ship?

These are some cool cases.
Probably cost an arm and your first born though...

This thread is very timely, I'm about to start work on my very own CKKIII :) Though I think I might just end up going the hammond route...

Me to but I am not using a Hammond.

Kinda blows a hole in the "not too expensive" part though.

Actually, that price isn't too bad at all. Do you think the bigger one could hold a gamma 1, the CKKIII, and the new LCDuino and both of its modules? I'm planning on building something of the ultimate budget DIY DAC/Amp, see this thread.
Wow, I didn't know they made enclosures! The case looks beefy enough to possibly bolt the power transistors to as a heatsink. My only worry would be the panel work as I don't have a drill press. Maybe I'll be sending it to FPE to get done instead.

Did you notice how the front panel is milled so the "center section" is only 1/16" thick?
I am thinking a cordless drill is about all it would take....
I did notice, but I've had bad experiences with making accurate holes with a cordless drill so I'm hesitant to try it again. I had a fun time once where I printed out a template and used a center punch but still managed to screw up a panel.
I do like the case though, I think I'll use and see how my luck goes with my cordless drill-fu.
