My vote went for my Fuze because of it's portability and versatility.  Don't like the sound or not enough power then get a LOD and amp.  It's also small enough that you can use an amp and it not be a problem to carry around.  It also plays FLAC natively and as mentioned earlier it's easy to Rockbox.

 

The Hifiman 801 might be better but I don't know as I've never heard it.

i think fuze/clip+. all contemporary players sound good, so wins the smallest and roxboxeableest . fuze easier to navigate (i think so, coz i only saw clip+ in a shop and it was incredibly small, would be fun to see how someone navigates it, especially with roxbox)

Navigation on the Clip is easy enough.  The menu structure is basically the same as on the Fuze.  Though the Fuze is more attractive with the colour screen and the click wheel makes things faster
