Unplugged like albums?

Thread Starter

I am fan of Eric Clapton and Nirvana unplugged sounds.  I really like the live stage on the spot music from great musicians.  I think music sounds more natural and detailed.  Can you guys suggest to me similar sounding music?  By the way, I like acoustic, but other forms that has sounds that I have described are great too as I am always willing to listen to something different.  Thanks.

Its really funny that you guys are calling out the Alice in Chains Unplugged album. Its BY FAR the must listened to album in my collection. If I look at the play counts in iTunes, most are like 10-15x.... then you get the AIC album its nearing 100  LOL

I'm sitting here as I'm typing this looking at Amazon trying to find similar music... I also love the Queensryche Operation LIVEcrime album

Its that good - no doubt. They were the top of the musical food chain at that time, and the playing shows why.

Richard Thompson "Live from Austin Texas" (Austin City Limits, I believe - a DVD).

As much as I like the Alice in Chains, I think I prefer the Nirvana.

Pearl Jam also had a short set in 92 I believe. When I first saw it I didn't think their sound would transfer over to acoustic very well(especially songs like Alive or Even Flow) but with that expectation, their unplugged set was well done.

Also - Porcupine Tree's "We Lost the Skyline" is essentially an unplugged album, and excellent, both musically and sonically.

We Lost The Skyline blows my mind!

"Normal" is fantastic and I love how he messes up and restarts the song! A very intimate live performance!

I really like Earphoria/Smashing Pumpkins, its only live,

but IMO, some songs are way better than original versions.
