that's why he's been harassing people via PM's right. :)

I think the IEM manufacturers will feel extremely thankful if he doesn't buy an IEM or custom.

Damn, 6 pages of this...

I got about 3/4 the way through the 1st page, and couldn't read any further because I was laughing so hard!

Kudos, Head-Fi.

I am utterly astonished with the level of patience and class that has been displayed by some of the community's members throughout this thread, starting with Head Injury and JoeyRusso to StevieDvd.

High_Q, you bring up an interesting question that a lot of people new to custom's usually have a dilemma with. So, yes, this would definitely help those who aren't too sure what the hype is all about. The only problem is your approach to the matter is with a predetermined dogmatic notion.

You really think we're all falling for a marketing gimmick? Some of the most well-known audiophile members on this forum, including the owner himself, appreciate their custom IEM's like the JH13's or JH16's as much as their most expensive, highly acclaimed pair of headphones. There have been countless detailed reviews depicting why the sound quality, in every aspect of the term from soundstage to low-end response, is on par with the best of the best.

So if, after searching for and reading these reviews, you realize that the sound quality may actually be that good, then ask yourself this:

Is there indeed value in in-ear monitors that rival the best headphones in the world in terms of sound quality, but actually have unparalleled comfort because they're actually custom made for your ears and your ears only?

We actually could care less what musicians wear. Hell, they can shove dandelions in their ears for all we care as long as they keep pumping out good music.

The only difference between your average casual listener and us is that we like to be fully prepared for as much of an engaging and personal musical experience as our gear can possibly allow for.

Stage performers need to hear themselves among other loud instruments, isolation is crucial and preferably discreet, therefore customs are perfect. Remember those huge boxes on the stage facing the players themselves? those are Monitors, they moved them In the performers' Ears.

High_Q is still posting on other threads so perhaps he got his answer here in this one and is thankfully moving on to other things.

I answered in depth for a couple of reasons, one I always try to think of newer members finding such threads and getting the best info rather than just argumentative answers; and two as it was just possible that High_Q was genuine and just needed the right words for the penny to drop.

One wonders why, after he responded back to my reply, that others jumped on board to criticise after it was apparently answered to his satisfaction!

Time to close this thread?

Haha, we agreed to close this thread about a page or two ago, but obviously it sparked up again. Guys, there's no need to provide further explanations, and I think it can be mutually agreed upon that any excess information added regarding High_Q or the topic is unnecessary.
