Ouch.  I kinda in the back of my head wanted the PWT but even at used price or gray market price around $2k it was so hard to swallow!  Also I recall lack of SACD support was a biggie.

Any MKII beta tester here?

I use the PWD and the bridge frequently. Once in a long while, I would connect my computer to my DAC via USB. Is the MKII upgrade beneficial for a PWD + bridge owner?

HI Gang,

Got my PWD W/ Bridge yesterday.
Sounds very good, but I have problems with drop outs if I do any work on my computer at all it seems. Even something as simple as typing an e mail will disturb it on occasion.

Here's the set up:
iMac in the office with a Verizon DSL Router/Modem.

At the stereo: A Buffalo wireless Ethernet converter (or bridge or whatever these things are called)

Ethernet cable from the Buffalo to the PWD.

eLyric server software.

Was using the same set up with the Logitech Transporter (apart from Squeeze Center server software) and NEVER had a drop out!

Funny thing is we stream Netflix movies through the same set up and it seems to work fine.

I'm about to temporarily hardwire it from the router and see if that makes any difference or not. Hate to do that because it would involve major surgery on the house to run wires.

Any ideas?

Just want to make sure: did you update your PWD to the latest firmware? I'm not very knowledgeable in the Logitech Transporter, but it's a network DAC similar to the PerfectWave DAC, right?

The unit was just built this week, so I assume it has the latest. Not sure where to get updates other than I hear they e mail them to you.

The Bridge did need an update which I did do. Didn't make any difference.

Moved the wireless receiver up higher to a possibly better location. Going to do a bunch of computer stuff now to see if I can get it to screw up again. Also got a 50 ft Ethernet cable to plug in to see if that fixes things if it happens to skip again.
Honestly, I think it's the server software that's at fault, but we'll see.

More as the situation develops....

It seems that your problem is originating from your computer and not your wireless if you say that typing an email causes drop outs.  Make sure you don't have any processes running in activity monitor that are consuming all your CPU.  I'm running eLyric on my 5 year old iMac (2.3 Core 2 Duo) and have never had any skipping issues.

Make sure you're using a wireless N router also.

Well maybe...

I moved the router off the floor and on to the shelf. Tried doing a bunch of things on my 3 yr old iMac and can't get it to skip now.

Will keep trying.

BTW, this is the router I bought.
