I almost put $3K as the price given the retail price change is $2K, I wasn't sure.  When they went from the MKI to the MKII the retail price changed $1K and the upgrade price was $1K.  The bridge has been the least valuable upgrade added at $800.  Maybe can trade the bridge in for lower upgrade price, probably not.

I will see if anyone has it at the upcoming Axpona at the end of April.

I'm not going to start in about the price. What I don't like is reading that the Sabre ESS DAC chip is the best in the world and we have in the not so 'Perfect' Wave a Wolfson.

I guess that's the audio world though. What's the so called best or perfect today, ain't so for very long. My AK120 is a year old? maybe less, and I've got the new AK240 on the way.

3Gs to upgrade......wow. Sorry my one and only moan.

I bought my PWD Mk1 in Aug 2009 used for about $2K.  Then spent $800 for a Bridge right away.  Then I spent $800 for the Mk2 upgrade in 2012, but listened to it for another year as a Mk1 before installing the upgrade last October.

I do think it improved with each upgrade, but I'm not spending $3K to upgrade a 5 year old DAC that already sounds this good. I only have about $3,600 invested total in the PWD Mk2 with Bridge, but taking it to $7,600 might be a little nuts for something that depreciates.

The Bridge definitely sounded better than the S/PDIF and USB input of the Mk1, UNLESS I was using Amarra music player to feed the optical or USB from my Macbook.  But now with the Mk2 upgrade having the digital lens the Bridge is less important.

As much as I like the PWD, I don't think it will worth over $5k.

If they include a remote or device that can perfectly control the Bridge and NAS, I may consider it. Recently I install eLyric on my daughter's iPod Touch 4th gen (last model before the new connector) both eLyric and Twonkey work perfectly.

Might be nice if I could upgrade for $2K and then make another DAC out of the Mk. II boards.

Will wait a good while for impressions and try to hear one first before making any moves!

PS Audio PWD II now $1,995 new at their site.

Use as is now, then get upgrade kit for $2,995 or trade in or get $2,000 credit later.

Am I the only one who feels that this video is a little ridiculous ? I mean, not only does PS audio's website looks like it's been inspired by Apple's website, now they're having keynotes to introduce "revolutionary" products asking rhetorical questions such as "wouldn't it be nice if..." and saying things like "and I'd like to show you their reaction to this new device" (it no longer is a big, steamy, clunky DAC, it's a "device"). And all that wrapped up in a webpage full of marketing fluff like "Fortunately music’s details have been more faithfully recorded than we ever suspected, but the cover-up of those recorded details has been with us for more than 30 years.   Happily, the missing musical information is still buried deep within our audio libraries—waiting to be revealed."

Please don't take this wrongly, I'm all in for technical and design / UI innovation, but it's just a DAC for goodness' sake and I'd rather like to see measurements on their webpage.

The product is ground breaking and it was done in a very organized manner. Go to there forums , the people there are very intelligent way beyond me. The product not only sounds amazing and cheap compared to 30 k dacs , but makes all inputs sound the same as well as not having to use expensive cables anymore. A cheap rats hack cable sounds the same as audio quest diamond that cost 750 . Usd. That is ground breaking. To me. .

I have little doubt that they're well-made "devices", it's just the marketing wrapping that I find over the top to the point of making me laugh as if I was watching a bad impersonation of Steve Jobs (the forced laugh at the beginning had me in stitches even before he started talking). At least it's better than the utterly bland MSB tech videos that look like they've been made on Super 16 in a kitchen.

Lmao. Yes there funny to watch. But many new products do the same videos. Ps audio has gone one step further with a you tube channel and a dedicated forum as well. .

I think given it is small company it's pretty well done. Another good point it's all made here in the USA , that means something to me too.

And now, for something completely different, part 2, where a man featuring a shirt / short combination that the snotty, pretentious, vain, appallingly futile parisian in me would consider as a fashion cataclysm, says a lot of things that are sort of interesting :

Yes Ted. A really nice guy with fashion issues . How about there is other videos of him on other dates with the same shirt. Maybe it's a distraction from what he saying LMAO

if you want to see really bad video google the MSB DAC videos , they make ps audio look like an epic movie event. Watch it. There are two people one is Vince sales manger nice guy but has that star thing going on. And the other guy is like Ted. And has this thing with his hands. Funny stuff.

Someone snag them before the used price drops like a stone.  Only two thankfully.
