JAYS v-Jays appreciation thread, though I have not listened to them thread .

Hey,

This Thread is for those whom love the idea that the jAYS V-jays may sound better than the sennheiser px100's .

Now to clarify I have not had the opportunity to listen to the V-jays, but if the name is anything to go by I'd say they should sound slightly better. V-jays have a better ring to it than px100 :-) .

Any more opinions on these Worthy adversaries in the competitive world of electronic consumables ? would we all be better off if they just teamed up,sharing their knowledge, and made a  Jaysenn Vpx jay100 model? combining the strengths of both models into one supreme portable headphone? .

To my ears they do sound better than both the PX100 and the very popular PortaPro.

the V Jays really are pretty good

If you live in Europe, they are pretty well-priced and certainly good phones.

Just buying them!  so in the light of not having any full facts about these headphones "fingers crossed" here is hoping that there going to be at the very least  up to the standards of the  senn px100 .

A pair for £38.99 GBP are on their way to my ears :-)

I received the jAYS v-jays Today.

I can confirm reviews that these headphones are of a Good Audio quality relative to their light weight low profile design.

I produce music & you know your own music like no other.V-jays does my music Justice :-).

Reviews that have stated that these are of a poor quality sound are either lacking  a  unbiased point of view or possibly comparing them to far more expensive audio gear.Though I have read reviews else where that stated that the v-jays had poor bass....? in which case they should be reviewing something else like washing machines.

The lows, mids & highs are all represented well.

I'm hoping to fix/replace the broken cable on my px100's.If I do I will give them a comparative 'sound' review on head-fi .

v-jays V px100.Though at present I'm favouring the v-jays , if I had to make a decision of using only 1 pair.

As far as quality of manufacture goes v-jays are ahead, the strongest structures in nature are founded on the most simplest of designs & it seems Jays have learned this lesson ,opting for simplicity & a durable design, though they do cost more than the px100's.

The one thing I would change with the design is the springy cable. The rubbery cable feels rather durable & is thicker than the px100 cable. It has a tendency though, when using only the short lead without the extension, to coil up & like a spring these curls don't easily straighten.

Ultimately though the v-jays & px100 are both very comfortable for long periods of wear, have a satisfactory audio quality in relation to their modest cost, & you can plug them into a portable audio player & wear them whilst walking, dancing, jogging, skipping & moving about in comfort, allowing you too concentrate on the music more than the music apparatus.

Never heard the c-jays so I can't comment on their sound.

The v-Jays however have a decent sound image, being able to hear the depth in Multi- layered electronic music as well as being responsive enough to punch out though beats .

Though I am still in the adapting  stage of 'hearing' the v-jays headphones fully yet, as I have not had the time to fully adjust, they have a different image than the px100's .Occasionally with some tracks I feel like some things a little odd with their sound? but then again with other tracks they sounded really good? .

I'm guessing at the moment that I have got used to the px100 sound,as they were my only other open headphone. listening on a new pair such as the v-jays, even though the actual sound may have more definition and overall clarity , the strange feeling that a  change can provide in relation to the secure familiarity of the px100 headphones can lead to  not giving the new headphones are fair hearing .

I'm listening to music almost throughout the day, using westone 3's 'IEM' , Audio Technica ATH-M50 'closed' ,PX100'S 'open' and some denon c551's IEM's,so I will have naturally adapted to the px100 characteristics as my only open headphone sound .

Each one of these audio device's are suited to my listening needs and environment . I.E - westone 3's have a superb sound, are portable and comfortable & are for environments that I don't need/want to hear external sound & are brilliant for listening and dancing to what your hearing. ATH-M50's have a well leveled Clarity for music composition , px100's have a warm & open sound/design when I need/want to hear external sound & the c551's have a decent enough sound for budget IEM's for environments where theirs a possibility they could get damaged I.E - working  .

So to sum up at the moment it's a case of 'oh yes these v-jays are good' V ' mmmm...? these sound weird ,different ..?

I will give the v-jays at least a few weeks then ( if my px100's are fixed ) do a comparison between the two portable headphones .
