should i get a 3G touch or wait for 4G

I'm also in the same situation. I did some research and it's likely that the new touch 4g will be released this september.

I think they'll probably come out with a camera for 4G - as for SQ... I find it hard to believe apple cares about the small population of headfi in comparison to the rest of America's needs of (looks, processing speed, games, apps, etc.)

Just wait what do you have to lose? When the 4g comes out you can compare both to each other. And the 3g will be probably be cheaper.

So far the only new thing known is the little camera. Wich is only there for a better position against the Nintendo DSi. 

At the moment I love my 3g. I do wish I had a little camera for those times. But other then that it's just an awesome device.

If you need it now you can always pick up a 3G refurbished ipod touch which will save you some money, otherwise wait and 4G should be released in September, 2010

I would just wait for the iPhone 4G...

Yeh I heard the Iphone 4g/HD can even cure blindness. The Iphone 3gs only does Deafness. You have to get one before the great apocalypse because Iphone is going to be the new god...

Just wait. It's always more satisfying when you do . Also, if the iPhone is getting front facing video chat (a possibility) then the touch might as well.

I'd wait till the new touch is announced myself, as it might have a new higher resolution screen. That alone is a major plus in my book - great for those vids on the go, as well as the gaming experience.

Bah, wish it would be released in June so I could use it during my trip in China. Does anyone else think a June release date is plausible? The new iPhone has already physically surfaced and potentially could be released in June (Or just announced).

Apple always follows their own release schedule - so it will hit when it always does, and June isn't it.

No. Announcement, unlikely, but no release. They need all the college kids to buy macs with last gen touches or the touches themselves so they can get rid of old stock.

On the other hand, seeing the similarities between this year and last year's design, they may have planned for an early release date. However I can't see them changing their successful mac with iPod summer deal to use more expensive newer iPods when the old ones will sell the macbooks almost as well.

Hmm....ill wait if i was u till the 4th gen was announced, then buy the 3rd gen clearanced models at a cut off price.

Then one certainly would be better off waiting for the 4G...
