New portable headphone amplifier OPA132+AD815 development

  • 4 Li-Ion mobile phone batteries 1000mAh (maybe six of them will be better?)
  • OPA132 (150uA class A bias) (is it enough? there is no perfomance difference in microcap)
  • AD815 (or THS6012; THS6182)
  • Gain 10dB
  • 10k potentiometer
  • Battery status monitor (is there any simple circuit for it?)

Any comments?

Yes of course. I'm waiting for AD815 arrival.

The bigger problem is that the AD815 has just been pushed into the end of life,

last time buy category and all the vendors i have checked have none in stock.

 

Looks like it would have been a great idea a few years ago.

Does not seem to be any similar chip that can work at the higher voltages.

kevin gilmore, THS6012 is very similar to AD815. I have choose the second one - some people say, that it has a bit cleaner sound on high frequencies.
