Selling my Monica 2 DAC because I rarely use it anymore. This is a great Non-Oversampling DAC using the TDA-1545 chip. I've built this one with Black Gate Type N coupling capacitors, Sanyo Os-Con for the digital sections, and film caps wherever possible. The resistors are Vishay Draloric, and I used an 80 Mhz clock crystal, which was the fastest I could find at the time that wasn't ridiculously expensive. It has a built-in TREAD regulator in the case set to 9VDC. Digital Input is Coax, and outputs are RCA. I've cased it up in a black, brushed-aluminum case, and will include a 12VDC wall-wart to feed it. You could also use 8x AA batteries to power it as well.
You can find out more about the Monica 2 at: http://diyparadise.com/monicaclone.html
Note: You should use this DAC only with a standard 16-bit/44.1khz output. It doesn't play well with much else. If you're worried about your transport/source, I'll also sell an NEC CD-602 CD-ROM drive to go with it (great inexpensive transport). PM me for details.
Asking $200 shipped in ConUS.
