The cans are new, but their detachable cord is used (I bought two pairs and the other cord broke, repairing it made it significantly shorter, when I needed a longer cord, I used this pairs cord)

I had planned on keeping them, but I've been looking for another new pair for three years and can't find another new pair so I've got to rip off the band aid and prepare to say goodbye to the CD2000 sound on my terms.

What does the MDR-CD2000 "SOUND" flavour sound like may I inquire pls, I am totally unfamiliar with these lovely cans...

Well, I heard my friend say if you use CD2000 with the match Dac and Headphonr amp, they can go pretty good compare to how worth they are(at $230-$350)

I believe they are sound sig close to L3000 (Not as good as L3000, but same style)

Pretty neutral, Bright though like many Sony cans. DETAILED, CLEAR! with tight precise yet ample bass. That and they are EASY to drive, Ipods run them VERY well.  I'd normally keep these but I screwed up and didn't secure enough of them to meet my criteria for "long term" phones (20yrs) So I'm selling them, and will be picking up a pair of SA5000's and stockpiling drivers and ear pads for them (the frames are metal so I don't think there will be any problems there)
