Hello! For sale here is an extremely-well built custom CK²III amplifier. After going through various revisions and redesigns, the CK²III, a joint project between the two DIY giants AMB Laboratories and Cavalli Audio, has been touted as possibly being the best headphone amplifier for under $500.
This specific amplifier for sale is nothing short of amazing.
Instead of having one hulking case for both the amplifier circuit board and the power supply, this custom-built CK²III employs a separate Hammond case for the power supply, which greatly reduces interference and allows for a vastly improved signal. The original builder also used a bench drill press to bore several rows of pristine ventilation holes on both the amplifier and the power supply. As a result, the heat produced by the amplifier is minimal.
From my communications with the original builder and from my wanderings inside the amplifier, I figured out that this CK²III also used premium, boutique parts, which produce a huge improvement from standard, stock parts.
A pair of RCA interconnects and two power cords are included.
